Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk-a-thon 2010

In Support of the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch!

Each year the Ontario SPCA provides protection, care, sheltering, and re-homing for thousands of animals. The Ontario SPCA also advocates for stronger animal protection laws – provincially and nationally. Your participation in this year's walk-a-thon will help ensure our continued voice for all animals across Ontario.

Sunday, May 2nd 2010: 
Walk, Woof and Wag in support of our Fabulous Furry Friends!

The walk is an event to raise financial support and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in our community. The walk begins at the Alder Street Recreation Centre Red Rink with registration and coffee. Participants and their dogs walk a 5km route along the Orangeville Mill Creek Trailway system and come back to the Recreation Centre for lunch and a fun dog contest.

Walt Disney All-Star Resort Holiday Trip for Two

All participants will receive a ballot for every $25 raised. Completed ballots will be entered in a draw for a chance to win this amazing holiday prize package. The trip includes return airfare from Toronto, transfers to and from Orlando International Airport, a standard hotel room and 7 day Park Hopper passes (does not include water parks). Draw will be held in September 2010.

Directions:
From Broadway and Riddell, go South on Riddell to Alder Street. The Recreation Centre is located on the Northeast corner of Alder and Riddell.

Registration and start are from the Red Rink at the rear of the building.

11:00 am - Walk begins
12:00 pm - Lunch for participants

Perhaps you make your own dog cookies, cat scratch posts, have your own pet clothing line or have your own line of Leashes and Collars…then this is the place for you. If your pet doesn’t enjoy the company of other animals or people, please leave them at home. • All participants (or guardians if under 18) must sign in at registration prior to starting the walk • Teams are limited to 8 members FUNDRAISING TIPS • Set a goal for the animals...the more money you raise the more money that goes to helping our furry friends at the Adoption Centre. • Save time...register and collect pledges online! • Take the Lead-sponsor YOURSELF with a High pledge and then start pawing your friends for pledges today. • Check with your Employer-see if they have a MATCHING GIFT program or are willing to make a corporate donation. this may double your pledges! • Get a Team together-talk to coworkers, friends and family and walk with your 'Friends for Life' Team • Raise funds in honour or memory of a loved one or pet. • Host a fundraiser to support your goal.
